In order for students to be successful in this field of study, students must possess
the following:
Various abilities for long periods of time, including: standing, walking, bending,
flexing, twisting, kneeling, reaching overhead above shoulders, Pushing, pulling,
lifting and carrying a minimum of 35 pounds.
Coordination and dexterity sufficient to manipulate equipment and laboratory instrumentation;
Ability to sense heat, cold, pain, pressure. Ability to make precisely coordinated
movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very
small objects.
Ability to keep hands and arms steady while moving arm or while holding arm and hand
in one position. Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine
or vehicle to exact positions.
Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the
observer)
Far Vision — The ability to see details at a distance.
