Oasis in Space Public Show

Tickets: BC Ticket Office and Online only. $8 adults; $6 seniors+children. Tickets go on sale January 22nd.

On Thursday evening, February 18th from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, the William M Thomas Planetarium will give a special one-hour evening showing of "Oasis in Space". Doors will open at 7:00 PM and will be closed during the one-hour program with no late admittance. Tickets are available for $8/adults and $6/seniors and children 5-12 years old from the Bakersfield College Ticket Office or Online only (tickets will NOT be sold at the door). The BC Ticket Office is in Business Services (661) 395-4326 and the William M Thomas Planetarium is on the second floor, northwest end of the Math-Science Building, Room 112. The map below shows you where the ticket office and the planetarium are. No food, drink, or gum/candy is allowed in the planetarium. Children must be 5 years or older, though the Oasis in Space presentation is geared for 3rd grade and above. 

The one-hour show will begin with a short tour of the evening sky using the planetarium's new Goto Chronos star projector followed by the 24-minute all-dome presentation from Spitz Creative Media called "Oasis in Space" using our Spitz SciDome projector. Oasis in Space transports the audience on a startling and beautiful voyage through our universe, galaxy and solar system in search of liquid water---a key ingredient for life on Earth. With a proven, audience-tested story, a 95% national viewer approval rating, and an original surround-format musical score, Oasis In Space will delight viewers of all ages.
