The William M Thomas Planetarium will present the future of human exploration on Mars with “Destination Mars: The New Frontier” on Thursday, March 14, from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. Doors will open 30 minutes before the show starts for seating and will be closed during the one-hour program with no late admittance. Tickets will be available for $8/adults and $6/seniors and children 5-12 years old from Vallitix online (see above) only starting February 16 (tickets will NOT be sold at the door). The William M Thomas Planetarium is on the second floor, northwest end of the Math-Science Building, Room 112. The map below shows you where is the planetarium. No food, drink, or gum/candy is allowed in the planetarium. Children must be 5 years or older.

The one-hour show will begin with a short tour of the evening sky using the planetarium's Goto Chronos star projector followed by the 35-minute all-dome presentation from Boston's Museum of Science called “Destination Mars”. Ever wonder what it would be like to fly to Mars? NASA - and others - have their sights set on the Red Planet and they're building the technology to get us there! "Destination Mars: The New Frontier" gives you an up-close look at humanity's most epic endeavor.

Explore the work being done around the globe to help make the dream of getting humans to Mars a reality. Fly through the International Space Station, where astronauts are already living and working in space, and follow the rockets and vehicles that will take humans beyond the Moon and, one day, all the way to Mars! Travel along as we imagine this remarkable journey.
