Accessing Online Courses
You will access your classes through InsideBC. After logging in, you'll find a toolbar at the top of the page with "My Courses."
From there, you can select your various online courses.
Zoom Area
You have a spot to attend zoom classes on our Panorama Campus!
The northeast corner of the Computer Commons in the BC Library is available for students
who need a space to participate in their Zoom courses. Space is limited and will be
first come first serve.

Bakersfield College offers over 750 online classes each semester. Narrow your schedule
search results by choosing "BC Online" for campus.
Our online classes are hosted in Canvas. To understand more about how to use Canvas,

On the Canvas dashboard, click on the book icon called ‘Courses’
Click on ‘All Courses’
Click on the star on all the courses you would like to appear on your dashboard
Classes will show up on Canvas if:
You are not waitlisted
Officially enrolled in the course
The professor has published the course on Canvas
Select the which courses to prioritize on the dashboard
Your instructor needs to give their students access to the Canvas course. If the class
has already started, double-check with your instructor. It may take a couple of days
for the class to load onto your Canvas. To make sure your class is pinned onto your
dashboard, click on ‘Courses’ and then ‘All courses’ to see all your courses.
Ensure you are logged in using your BC credentials to log into Zoom
When prompted with the download screen, click on the download
Grant permission for the download
For Chromebooks, click on Zoom for Chromebook PWA
Some helpful information before printing:
It is 10¢ for each page that you want to print.
Only credit/debit cards are accepted for payment (no cash/Apple Pay)
Your documents will print right from one of the printers in the center of the Computer
Commons
These instructions only work if you are printing using a desktop computer found in
the Computer Commons area
Have the document you want to print ready
Double-check check you are not printing blank white pages, as you will be charged
for these and will not receive a refund
Instructions for printing:
Click on ‘Print Manager’ on the desktop
Click on the tab that says ‘Balances’
Make sure the ‘Paid’ option is clicked
Make sure to add the funds you will need
After clicking ‘purchase credit,’ continue to checkout
Now, go to the document you want to print
Continue by printing your document as you normally would with CTRL P (the printer
should start with BCLIB)
Go back to ‘Print Manager’
Click on the ‘Release’ tab
At last, you should see your document to ‘Release’ (try refreshing a few times until
you see it)
Now you are Done! Go to one of the printers in the center of the Computer Commons
to get your documents.
You may need to clear the cookies and cache from your browser.
Firefox:
Click on the menu button in the right-hand corner
Click on ‘Options’ gear icon
Click the ‘Privacy and Security’ panel
Scroll down to ‘Cookies and Site Data’
Click on ‘Clear Data’
In the dialog box, make sure both cookies and cache are checked Click on ‘Clear’
A reminder that doing this may sign you out of websites and offline web content, and
this goes for every browser.
Google Chrome:
On the top right, click on the three dots
Click on ‘Settings’
Then on your left, click on ‘Privacy and Security’
Click on ‘Clear browsing data’
Make sure both cookies and cache are selected
Click on ‘Clear data’
Microsoft Edge:
Click on three dots in the right-hand corner
Click on ‘Settings’
Click on ‘Privacy, search, and services’
Scroll until you see ‘Clear browsing data’
Click on ‘Choose what to clear’
Make sure both cookies and cache are selected
Click on ‘Clear now’
To create a case with IT (Instructional technology) go to the KCCD Service Center
website at the IT Support Site
You would need to follow this link in a web browser: Password reset. Click on the ‘Forgot Password’ button and follow the prompts
There are multiple ways to connect to secure Wi-Fi based on the type of device you
use. There are secure Wi-Fi options available for Android devices which differ from
Apple devices.
On the Bakersfield College main website and in the search bar type ‘AppStream’
Click on the link ‘Apps on Demand (AppStream)’
Click on ‘Launch AppStream’
To end your session, click on the person icon on the top right and click on ‘End session.’
Here you will have access to a variety of apps, including SPSS. These apps may take
a couple of minutes to load.
Yes. You must have a college-assigned email address that is operational and that you
check often. You can access your college-assigned email through InsideBC.
Students on the waiting list typically are not given access to the online class until
after they move onto the official roll sheet. However, you should send an email to
your instructor, if you haven't already done so, with up-to-date contact information.
Check your registration status daily so that you will know when you are moved to the
official roll sheet, if that occurs.
It could be that your instructor will not respond until the first day of class, which
is the first day of school. If you still have not heard from your instructor by that
time, send another email to them. You must contact the instructor to receive the syllabi
before the beginning of the semester. It is up to the instructor's discretion to respond
to students before the beginning of the semester.
