Mission

Preserve the history of Bakersfield College and make it accessible by collecting, organizing, and maintaining records, artifacts, and narratives which reveal that history and its impact on the community.

The Archives is dedicated to excellence, transparency, and integrity in its archival practices, fostering an environment where the past continuously informs and inspires the present and the future. As the custodian of the College’s historical legacy, the Archives is committed to a comprehensive collection that reflects the College’s transformative journey.

Vision

The Bakersfield College Archives envisions a community dedicated to preserving the rich heritage and inspiring stories of our College.

Guided by Bakersfield College’s vision, it has a commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. By employing the latest archival methodologies, it will ensure the conservation of the College’s shared past for generations to come.

 

Our Mission and Vision rest on four pillars:
