OER Faculty Resources
Welcome to BC’s OER Faculty Resource Page!
Using free and open education resources (OER) benefits students and ensures everyone has access to the textbook day one.
If you are interested in adopting OER in your courses, Bakersfield College’s Library and Academic Technology department offers a wide range of support services to help you reduce the cost of your class for your students!
Helpful Guides to Adopting OER
This guide is a jumping off place to find OER resources. There are a number of OER materials in this guide that may be found by discipline, by topic or about DEI-A. There is also a page with OER aggregators which are simply specialized search engines. All the resources listed are OER, Open Access or Public Domain.
Copyright for Bakersfield College
Copyright is complicated! Here you will find the basics you need to make good decisions about the resources you choose for your courses.
This guide shows why OER matters by showing the benefits of OER to our students, how it fits into articulation, the different types of OER, and how to choose the correct OERs for your courses.
