Severe Wind

Windstorms severe enough to cause damage may occur at infrequent intervals and may be accompanied by torrential rains. Property and equipment should be properly anchored, tied down, or moved inside a building or tied down.

The best protection in severe winds is in permanent buildings with windows closed. Persons should be moved to these buildings rather than evacuated. If winds cause property damage, call College Safety immediately at (661) 395-4554. If an emergency situation arises, immediately call College Safety or call 911.

When severe winds have stopped, College Safety, Maintenance & Operations, and other college staff will inspect the campus for damage. If the Incident Command Center is activated, wait for direction from college staff.
