Accessibility Training Resources

What does accessibility mean?

It means that we prepare digital information so that those with disabilities can use them.

Make Content Accessible

There are many courses and tutorials to learn to make content accessible. We have some suggestions for where you can get started. We also offer some resources to help when you need a reminder.

Accessibility References

Make it Accessible for ALL

In addition to the training recommendations, we have created a few references for use by staff, faculty, students, and anyone who wishes to make their content more accessible.

Tutorials and Courses

There are several options for learning to make your materials accessible. Some may have a fee and others are free.

Bakersfield College Non-Credit Courses

We offer two non-credit tuition-free courses for learning to create accessible content.

LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com)

These video-based tutorials are excellent work-at-your-own-pace training. They often include exercise files for hands-on training to making documents accessible. Earn certificates for completing courses.

BC Employees

Bakersfield College and the California Community College Accessibility Center offer additional resources at no cost to BC employees. Check out resources in Employee Accessibility Resources.
