Bakersfield College recently hosted a Social and Behavioral Sciences Career Expo at its Panorama Campus, bringing together industry professionals and experts to share job opportunities and insights into their field of work. This exciting event allowed students to explore different career paths, connect with potential employers, and learn more about internship opportunities. Attendees also had the opportunity to speak with university representatives about advancing their education in their desired career fields.

Held in the Renegade Event Center, the venue was filled with energy as students interacted with organization representatives. Among the participants were Nami, CalSoap, Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo (CAPSL), and the Open Door Network. With such a diverse range of organizations in attendance, the Career Expo offered students a variety of career opportunities, from teaching and advocating for domestic violence awareness to delivering books to children across Kern County and organizing workshops to support new students.

Bakersfield College also welcomed representatives from California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), and the University of La Verne, providing students valuable insights into their degree programs, transfer pathways, and admission requirements. Some of the participating universities offer accelerated bachelor’s programs and dual-enrollment options, so students can customize their learning experience to fit their personal and professional commitments.

Thank you to the Career Education Department for organizing this event and providing BC students with the opportunity to explore various paths to advance their education and careers.
