BC Joins Youth 2 Leaders to Support Students at Financial Aid Press Conference and Workshops

Monday, March 24, 2025
Bakersfield College is proud to partner with the Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation, the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), SSJV Cal-SOAP, and the K-16 Education Collaborative for an official Financial Aid Press Conference and a series of Cash 4 College workshops on Tuesday, March 25.
The Financial Aid Press Conference will be held from 2:00PM. to 3:00PM at the KCSOS City Centre in downtown Bakersfield (Room 1B, 1300 17th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301). Community leaders and educational partners will highlight efforts to expand access to financial aid and share the latest updates and opportunities available to students and families.
Following the press conference, Cash 4 College workshops will be hosted at multiple locations across the region, where Bakersfield College representatives will be on-site to assist students and families with completing their financial aid applications. Workshops are free and open to the public.
These efforts come in response to the extended financial aid application deadline and are part of a coordinated campaign to ensure more students access the resources they need to afford college. Bakersfield College staff will be available at each location to guide attendees through the FAFSA or CADAA application process, answer questions, and provide personalized support.
“Financial aid is one of the most powerful tools we have to eliminate barriers to higher education,” said Amerika Nino-Rodriguez, Bakersfield College program director for Cal-SOAP. “We’re excited to be working with our partners to help every student take advantage of this opportunity.”
