BC Celebrates Women’s History Month with Series of Inspirational Events

Bakersfield College is proud to join the nation in celebrating Women’s History Month by hosting a series of inspirational events, panel discussions, performances, and more! The Women’s History and More (WHAM) Committee has worked diligently in coordinating these events to highlight the accomplishments, contributions, and resilience of women throughout history. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Women as Unconventional Leaders.”

All events are open to BC students, staff, and community members and are free of charge! Come and celebrate Women’s History Month with us, and help us honor incredible women of the past, present, and future!

Hidden Figures Film Screening
Tuesday, March 4 at 6:00PM in the Norman Leven Center
Watch the inspiring film Hidden Figures, celebrating the incredible story of African American women mathematicians at NASA.

Levan Center Presents: Guest Speaker Margot Lee Shetterly
Wednesday, March 5 at 6:00PM in the Renegade Event Center
Meet Margot Lee Shetterly, author of Hidden Figures, who will share her insights into the untold stories of these trailblazing women.

Latinas in Business & Leadership Panel
