BC Announcement Regarding Students Who Serve in the CA National Guard

As multiple fires continue to impact the Southern California region, Bakersfield College students who serve in the California National Guard may be activated to respond to mitigation and restoration efforts. The BC staff and faculty want to express our gratitude and support to all of our service members as they fulfill this important and critical role in our community.

We understand that these mobilizations may create disruptions to academic schedules. As such, we want to ensure that our California National Guard students are fully supported during their time of service, both in the short-term and the long-term.

If you are a California National Guard student who will be impacted by this activation, or if you have any questions regarding accommodations for military absences, it is critical that you reach out to the BC Veterans Resource Center. We are here to help facilitate accommodations with the least impact possible on your educational progress while you fulfill military duties.
