BC's Veterans Resource Center Hosting A Drive-Thru Event To Collect School Supply Donations

The Bakersfield College Veterans Resource Center is hosting “Stock the Locker,” a drive-thru school supply event to help current and future veteran students in their educational pursuits.
These supplies allow us to continue providing basic needs to our current and future veteran students. As these veterans re-integrate themselves into civilian life, they are faced with unique challenges. Our goal is to give these students access to the resources they need to be successful, including counseling, food, clothing and supplies to excel in their courses.
BC has many military veterans from various backgrounds pursuing a higher education on the G.I bill, and our VRC works hard to ensure all veteran students are aware of the support that is provided for them on campus.
The event will take place on Wednesday, November 29th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All donations can be dropped off at the outdoor theater roundabout in front of the Performing Arts Center.
They will be accepting all school supplies, including:
- Backpacks
- Planners/Agendas
- Black/Blue Pens
- Colorful Pens/Markers
- Mechanical Pencils
- Extra Lead
- Erasers
- Paper Clips/Binder Clips
- Paper (college ruled)
- Staplers
- Binders (1.5”, 2”, 3”)
- Binder Dividers
- Folders
- Pencil Pouches
- Sticky Notes
- Page Markers
- Index Cards
- Spiral Notebooks
- Highlighters
- Flash Drives
- Scissors
- Rulers
- Graphing Paper
- Hand Sanitizer
