BC Celebrates Homecoming 2023 with a Week of Events and Contests

This year’s Glitch in Time: Y2K Homecoming was so fetch! We had such a great turnout for all our events, and we had 13 teams that signed up and participated this year. We had so many events and are proud to celebrate the winners.
BC Cribs: Office/Department Decorating Contest
The BC Cribs: Office/Department Decorating Contest was held throughout the week and judged on Friday based on creativity, theme relevance, spirit, and Renegade Pride. All of the teams that entered had fantastic decorations. This year’s winners were:
- 1st Place: Backstreet EOPS (located in the EOPS Office, CSS 2nd floor)
- 2nd Place: BC ASL Club (located in LA 215B)
- 3rd Place: Best of Both Worlds (located in the Welcome Center)
The first place BC Cribs: Office/Department Decorating Contest winner will receive a catered lunch party for 25 for their team. Congratulations again to EOPS!
Glitch in Time: Y2K Homecoming Overall Team Competition
The Glitch in Time: Y2K Homecoming Overall Team Competition Winner was determined by calculating the points earned from competing in and attending all of the homecoming events. This year’s winners were:
- 1st Place: Best of Both Worlds (Welcome Center)
- 2nd Place: BC CHEER!
- 3rd Place: Nightmare's Lair (Renegade Campus Store)
The winning team’s name will be engraved on the BC Homecoming Red & White traveling trophy and will receive an individual trophy for their team. Congratulations again to Best of Both Worlds!
Homecoming Royalty Court
We wrapped up homecoming week with The 2000s Called: They Want their Float Back! Leading the parade were the Homecoming Royalty Court Finalists. During halftime our top three Homecoming Royalty Court Winners are were crowned:
- Sydney Moore - Our first Homecoming Queen silver crown recipient is a freshman at Bakersfield College currently working on her nursing prerequisites. This Queen is a student athlete and a member of the Cheer Team. Congratulations Sydney!
- Natalie Macias - Our second Homecoming Queen silver crown recipient is also a student athlete in cross country. This Queen is majoring in culinary arts and food service management. Congratulations Natalie!
- Catherine Guillen - This brings us to our Homecoming Queen gold crown recipient. This Queen received the most votes and participated in the most events at this year’s Glitch in Time: Y2K Homecoming. She is a sophomore majoring in elementary school education. Congratulations Catherine!
A big thank you again to everyone who came out for all the events this year! We can’t wait to see everyone again next year for homecoming!
