Bakersfield College Recognizes 7th Annual Undocumented Students Action Week

Bakersfield College recognized the 7th Annual Undocumented Students Action Week (USAW) with a series of informational workshops and special events to provide support and resources to undocumented students at BC and other institutions.
The workshops featured several local business presenters, including Kern Women’s Business Center, United Way of Kern, Citizen’s Bank, and United Farm Workers. The presentations covered various topics including financial savings goals, entrepreneurship, tax preparation, creating business plans, immigration services, and others.
There were also workshops conducted by several BC departments covering several academic topics including scholarship application, transferring to a four-year university, health and wellness resources, and others.
The week concluded with a special performance by Ballet Folklorico Ritmo y Sabor and
a Mariachi group.
Overall, it was an amazing event as many students were on hand to participate in the
informational workshops and events. BC was proud to participate in the 7th Annual USAW and looks forward to participating in the event for years to come.
