Free Rides for Students on Kern Transit

Kern Transit has historically offered free bus fares for Bakersfield College Students for the last 5 or 6 years, and they plan to offer that again this academic year. Currently, everyone rides free on their buses system-wide until August 31, 2023. Then, starting on September 1, 2023, everyone will have to start paying fares again, but all students will ride free as long as they show a student ID to the bus driver when boarding.
In the past, Kern Transit had limited the free fares for students promotion to only their 100-numbered routes, but now the promotion is open to every single Kern Transit route and even their Dial-A-Ride.
