BC Hosts International Student Orientation

On Monday, August 14th, Bakersfield College welcomed 18 new international students along with continuing students to the fall New International Student Orientation and meeting at the Norman Levan Center. Leadership and campus department program staff and resources spent part of their day presenting their services while connecting with students. International Students also had a special guest presenter from the Bakersfield Convention and Visitors Bureau. International students learned about Kern County and “Baker’s” Field. A Friday activity followed with the international students doing scavenger hunt selfie trail traversing the streets of Bakersfield.

Students from all over the world chose Bakersfield College to study. This year, new International students including student-athletes joined BC from various parts of the world including Japan, Australia, India, Philippines, China, Nigeria, Canada, South Korea, Myanmar, Czech Republic, Indonesia, and Brazil.
