BC’s Renegade Motorsports Team Participates in Race at Willow Springs International Raceway

The Renegade Motorsports team participated in our third race in the past 12 months on May 6-7 at Willow Springs International Raceway. We completed all 15 hours of racing during the 2-day endurance racing event with no major mechanical or on-track issues. We finished 26th out of over 60 cars, gained the respect of our competitors, and made some great new friends along the way, including another college team from Utah Valley University. Their team has been competing for 6 years and they are very eager to help in any way. This new connection will have countless benefits as we share ideas and resources to make this an even more rich and encouraging experience for our students.
In addition to regular competition events at Willow Springs International Raceway, Buttonwillow Raceway Park, and Thunderhill Raceway Park, our team participates in several outreach and community events, acting as ambassadors for Bakersfield College and the Automotive Program. We also serve as crew members on the Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster teams at the Hot Rod Reunion and March Meets races at Famoso Dragstrip.
