New Student Convocation 2023
Bakersfield College is excited to usher in the new academic year with our students. As part of that tradition, BC hosts the annual New Student Convocation. The word convocation literally means a “calling together,” which means you will now become part of the Renegade community. Beyond welcoming you to the community, we will also provide critical information about navigating college life, the importance of getting involved on campus, making the most of your time here, and strategies for being successful. The Convocation activities include a Bridge to BC Family Scavenger Hunt! Families will join their student to explore some of our campus resources! Students who turn in completed Scavenger Hunt cards by 6:30 PM will get a prize!

- New Student Welcome Ceremony: 7:13 PM
- Outdoor Theater, PAC Building
- All registered students receive a special BC item after attendance at the event.
Student Resource Fair

Departments and Student Organizations can begin setting up at 3:30 PM and should be ready to engage students by 4:45 PM. Show them how your services will help them be academically successful and how your group can help them be a part of the Renegade experience!
