Outstanding Students Recognized at Student Leadership and Involvement Awards

The Bakersfield College Student Government Association (BCSGA) took a moment to recognize some of our most outstanding Renegades during the Student Leadership and Involvement Awards on Thursday, April 30.
Director of Student Life Dr. Nicky Damania was the master of ceremonies for the virtual event, and Vice President of Instruction Billie Jo Rice gave a welcome address thanking students for continuing their education during these trying times. Outgoing Athletic Director Sandi Taylor also offered some congratulation remarks before BCSGA President Samantha Pulido announced the scholarship awards. Benny Balderrama, the Program Manager for Student Life, announced the Renegade Leadership Awards, and BCSGA Vice-President Elect Emma McNellis announced the student organization awards. Damania closed out the ceremony by announcing Olivia Garcia as the winner of the Samuel W. McCall Outstanding Professor of the Year.
