Counseling and Advising

To access Starfish to schedule an appointment:

1. login to InsideBC
2. Click on the Tools menu
3. Click Starfish
4. Locate the "My Connections" box on your Starfish Dashboard. This will list all the professors in your active term as well and the Counselor and Educational Advisor on your pathway (based on your declared major).
5. Click the "Schedule" link below the specific persons name. In-person and Zoom meetings are available.

You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment. This will include important information regarding the meeting, location, and Zoom meeting link, if necessary.

For Zoom meetings, we suggest you login from a computer, laptop, or tablet with a microphone and webcam to optimize your virtual appointment.

Scheduled appointments may not be available during peak registration periods and/or during the summer. Please be on time to your appointment. You may also need to provide copies of your unofficial college and/or university transcripts to determine course clearance or course placement.

As a courtesy to other students and our faculty and staff, we expect you to be on time to counseling and advising appointments. However, we do understand that unexpected events may arise. We will accept late attendees up to 5 minutes after a scheduled appointment. Students arriving more than five (5) minutes late will be required to reschedule their appointment.
