College Opening New Fields
Bakersfield College is holding a grand opening for the new Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex by inviting the community to see the first baseball and softball games of the season for free on February 4. Learn more in our press release.
Renegade Pantry Open
Bakersfield College's Student Government Association recently opened The Renegade Pantry, a food bank by students, for students. Distribution dates for the Spring semester are February 11 & 25, March 11 & 25, April 7 & 22 and May 6. Call 395-4030 for more information.
Academic Development Recognized
Bakersfield College's Academic Development program recently received the Exemplary Program Award from the Academic Senate for California Community College. The program initiated bold and well-designed strategies to assist students as they prepare to transfer or start careers. Congratulations!
Certificates Accepted
On Thursday, December 17, the KCCD Board of Trustees voted to accept Certificates of Proficiency for students reaching completion in Fall 2009 and Spring 2010. While further discussion is pending, students can expect their certificates soon.
