Shared Values of the BC Child Development Centers

Quality child development programs must promote, support and enhance the child's total development. The programs must also reflect developmentally appropriate practices and recognize individual family values and culture. Our program focus is theory-based which emphasizes an interactive learning approach and the inter-connected nature of the child's developing ability. Because the family has the most influence on the child's learning potential, it is important for parents and site personnel to acknowledge their joint responsibility for the education of the children and work together cooperatively to best facilitate the child's development.
