The following is a sequence of photos taken of the construction of our new Thermo Energy Storage (TES) Tank that will allow BC to save not only Natural Gas and Electricity, but manpower and money as well. We are going GREEN! With the savings of utility consumption, we will be saving precious resources and ultimately our environment. We will be able to chill water at night (store up) and maximize the use of our equipment (run at a higher efficiency) in providing the needed cold water to keep our buildings at comfortable temperatures the following day. The majority of our campus will be on a “Chiller Loop” that will provide the needed cold water to cool rooms and offices during the heat of the day without having to turn everything at full throttle, just to keep up with the demand of an extremely hot day. The energy costs that will be avoided due to this project, will allow us to pay for it within 8 years, and after that, it will be the gift that keeps on giving as we realize additional cost savings.
