Garden Fest and 100th Tree Planting

9 a.m. - 4 p.m., with tree planting at 1 p.m.
Bakersfield College Renegade Park
Events scheduled for this year's Bakersfield College Garden Fest include country garden seminars, industry professionals providing valuable tips and information on gardening, floral design, pet care, cooking, and more. A special celebration, in honor of Bakersfield College's centennial anniversary, will take place at 1 p.m. with the planting of the 100th tree on campus. Over the last six months, 99 new trees have been planted at Bakersfield College, and the 100th, a large, beautiful tree, will be added to the Renegade Park in honor of the college's centennial.
Also, you can be one of just 100 people to own an exclusive piece of history.
Bakersfield College's Horticulture Department will be making just 100 special
rose bushes available for purchase. These exquisite red and white rose bushes
are available in honor of Bakersfield College's centennial. Rose bushes are $30
and will be available for sale at garden fest.
More than 150 vendor booths will be available with information on gardening, pets, cooking, outdoor leisure, arts & crafts, and environmentally-friendly home improvement ideas. The annual farmer's market will have fresh fruits and vegetables ripe and ready for purchase. Bakersfield College's Culinary Arts Department will have freshly-prepared food available throughout the event.
100th Birthday Party and Ghost Tour

Birthday cake and punch for all Bakersfield College staff immediately following the Fall 2013 semester Opening Day activities. Cake is being baked and decorated by Bakersfield College Culinary Arts students.

Formal event celebrating Bakersfield College's centennial anniversary, with exhibits and displays of history, live music, fine dining catered by Bakersfield College Culinary Arts.

The annual Bakersfield College Alumni Association Hall of Fame dinner recognizes outstanding Bakersfield College alumni. Nominations are currently being accepted for 3-4 inductees into the Bakersfield College Alumni Association Hall of Fame. Email becki whitson for details on nominations.
