Developing Basic Reading Skills - 3

Recommended for students who need to improve vocabulary and reading comprehension and flexibility. Focuses on demonstration and application of reading strategies as they apply to textbook reading. Includes paragraph analysis, study strategies such as SQ3R and outlining, and vocabulary building techniques. Practice in application and analysis level thinking skills. Prerequisite: Reading Level 3 or successful completion of ACDV B91 or ENSL B61. Recommended: English Level 3 or ENSL B80 with a grade of C or better or concurrent enrollment in ACDV B68 or ACDV B201a. Hours: 54 lect./disc. Offered: F, S, SS. CCS: Precolleigate- basic skills.
