Special Problems in Welding - 1-3 units. Limit 3 units.
Provides individual students the opportunity to explore various segments of welding such as various welding processes and codes, fabrication techniques, layout, and testing and preparation for certification. Development and implementation of meaningful, self-directed studies in areas where student desires specific technical and related skill development necessary for enrichment or employment. Prerequisite: WELD B1a or WELD B53a with a grade of "C," or equivalent experience or evaluation by instructor. Completed "Petition for Individual Study" form. Recommended: Reading Level 5 or 6. Enrollment is contingent on available lab space. Hours: (18-54) Hrs. by arrangement. Repeat: 2 or until a maximum of 3 units is reached. CCS: Occupational Education. Not Transferable: Not degree applicable.
