A half-day conference for college students considering careers in the medical and health professions is February 8, 1-4 p.m. at California State University Bakersfield Dore Theater. Co-sponsored by CSUB, Kern Medical Center, Kern Community College District and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, the event provides students the chance to meet and hear medical professionals and interact with health personnel in hands-on workshops. The conference is designed to help students prepare for admission to schools of medicine, nursing, and pharmacy, and graduate programs for physical therapy, physicians assistant, laboratory science, and radiology technology. The event and parking are free.
